Pollock is the current vice president of the Ohio Society and the Deputy President General of the General Society of the War of 1812. He is a retired colonel in the U.S. Air Force. He also is a past president of the District of Columbia Society of the GSW1812.
The program for the October meeting of the Society of the War of 1812 in the State of Ohio will be a presentation by Colonel Robert D. Pollock, entitled Unit formation and fielding in Ohio. Pollock will address the military affairs of Ohio and how Governor Meigs ordered the call up of militia companies for emergencies; specifically, the call up of Captain Ulp’s Company in 1813.
The meeting will start at 12 noon at the MCL Restaurant and Bakery in Upper Arlington, OH. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. and serves cafeteria style, so arrive early to gather your food. The meeting is open to the public and guests are always invited to attend.
