Purpose of the Society

The Purpose of the Society of the War of 1812 is:
to perpetuate the memory of the participants and the battles of the War of 1812; to collect, secure, and preserve any tools, records, books, documents, or artifacts relating to the War of 1812; to support research and encourage publication of the stories of the patriots and the landmarks of the War of 1812; to cherish, maintain and foster the institutions of American patriotism and freedom; and promote friendship among the descendants of the soldiers and sailors of the War of 1812.
